Description
In a nutshell:
Rich and nutty with a bright citrus lift, it's Meursault doing what Meursault does best - showing off, but in a rather charming way.
The lowdown:
The Côte de Beaune village of Meursault is where some of the world's finest Chardonnays call home, and this is one that carries the torch with style. A mineral nose with hints of spice and incense gives way to a layered palate - bright citrus, creamy acidity, and a touch of toasty oak, finishing long and elegant. Made exclusively from old vines, it's fermented with native yeasts in open wooden casks. And after a stint on lees and six months in oak, it's developed all the Côte de Beaune charm you'd hope for, with no corners cut along the way.
The Producer:
Pierre Bourée Fils has been crafting fine Burgundy since 1864, when Pierre Bourée founded the estate. Now in the hands of the fourth generation, the family remains deeply rooted in tradition. They own vineyards in Gevrey-Chambertin, including a well-regarded parcel in the Grand Cru of Charmes-Chambertin, a hallmark of quality in the region. Alongside their estate wines, they are also respected négociants, producing wines from some of the Côte dOrs most renowned appellations. Their approach combines classic winemaking with a light touch, resulting in wines that are elegant and true to their origins.
When to drink:
It's just the thing with pheasant à la crème or duck with orange and honey - rich, feathered game that's looking for a touch of citrus and cream to keep it in check.
Suitable for Vegans
