It has a seductive nose cloaked in spice and caramel and rich aromas of mature fruit. The palate is full and balanced, resonant of rich mellow fruit keeping the alcohol in check. Long, lingering finish that leaves you wanting more.
The Producer:
Taylor's is one of the oldest and most respected Port houses, with a history that stretches back over 300 years. Among their three Quintas, Vargellas is probably the best known and most well regarded, producing some of their finest Ports. Taylor's is also credited with originating Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) Ports, a style that has gained immense popularity over the years. Their approach is all about maintaining tradition while crafting quality Ports that stand the test of time.
When to drink:
Chilled it makes an excellent aperitif, but also ideal drunk with hard nutty cheeses, or rich puddings.
