Graham's 10 Year Old Tawny Port NV

Tawnys get their warm, russet-gold hue from years spent ageing in wooden casks, and Graham's 10 Year Old is a textbook example. The slow maturation softens the tannins and lends a silkier texture, making it lighter than other styles yet every bit as indulgent. The nose is rich with toasted nuts, honey, and fig, while the palate is beautifully rounded with mellow, mature fruit. A long, sumptuous finish lingers elegantly, along with plenty of depth and complexity.

Lightly chilled, it works well with desserts like sticky toffee pudding or pecan tart, where its rich, nutty sweetness complements the caramelised flavours. For a savoury match, try it with something like aged Comté - hard, nutty cheeses bring out its depth beautifully.

Established in 1820 in Oporto, W & J Graham is one of the Port trade's famous names and has long been synonymous with some of the greatest Vintage Ports. The Symington family acquired the company in 1970. At the heart of Graham's Port is the famous Quinta dos Malvedos in the upper reaches of the Douro Valley. The old winery was completely renovated in 2000 and is now equipped with three revolutionary robotic lagares that 'tread' the grapes. Alongside these are the ancient granite lagares where some of the harvest is still trodden by human foot. The neighbouring Quinta do Tua and Quinta das Lages in the Rio Torto valley are key vineyards for Graham's, as are the privately family owned Quintas of Vila Velha and Vale de Malhadas.
