Description
West Coast Style Pale Ale
England: London
ABV 3.0% - 50.0cl
In a Nutshell:
A proper session beer, easy on the ABV but brimming with bright hop flavour and a satisfying malt backbone.
The Lowdown:
This classic table beer hit the scene back in 2012 and was a pioneer among flavoursome, lower-strength brews. They weren't about to sacrifice character for a lower ABV so you can expect those signature bright hop aromas, singing with citrus and a touch of the tropical. Rolled oats give it a satisfying body while a measured bitterness keeps things balanced. A proper beer at around 3%, proving you don't need a high ABV to make something that hits the spot.
The Brewery
The Kernel was brewing in Bermondsey before the now-famous Beer Mile was even a thing. Founded in 2009 by Evin O'Riordan, it set the standard that many others would follow - proper, no-nonsense beer with a focus on quality over hype. And they're not one of those trendy craft brewery brands that started small but sold out to the corporates when the big boys came knocking. The Kernel's indie credentials and credibility are as strong today as they were when they started.
