Description
In a nutshell:
Made for mixing, this fresh, light, and aromatic port is packed with bright red fruit, floral notes, and a lively, modern edge.
The lowdown:
Ruby port made for a purpose - and that purpose is mixing. High-altitude vineyards, night-picked grapes, and a cold ferment keep it light, fresh, and bursting with bright red fruit. None of the heavy, syrupy sweetness here - just pure, vibrant flavour with a floral lift. Stick it in a spritz, mix it with tonic, or get creative. However you serve it, Blend No.12 is built for a good time.
The Producer:
Established in 1820 in Oporto, W & J Graham is one of the Port trade's famous names and has long been synonymous with some of the greatest Vintage Ports. The Symington family acquired the company in 1970. At the heart of Graham's Port is the famous Quinta dos Malvedos in the upper reaches of the Douro Valley. The old winery was completely renovated in 2000 and is now equipped with three revolutionary robotic lagares that 'tread' the grapes. Alongside these are the ancient granite lagares where some of the harvest is still trodden by human foot. The neighbouring Quinta do Tua and Quinta das Lages in the Rio Torto valley are key vineyards for Graham's, as are the privately family owned Quintas of Vila Velha and Vale de Malhadas.
When to drink:
Chill it and mix it - this is port with a playful side. Use it in a Negroni for a richer twist, top with tonic and orange for a refreshing spritz, or mix with ginger beer for a spicy kick.
