Description
In a nutshell:
A delightfully balanced Aussie Chardonnay - think ripe orchard fruit, a hint of creamy oak, and a bright, citrusy freshness that keeps you reaching for another sip.
The lowdown:
A white that sings of sun-kissed stone fruit - peaches, apricots, a whisper of pear. There's a silken touch of vanilla and marzipan sweetness, thanks to a brief dance with French oak barrels. But the winemaking is light-handed; the fruit shines through, tempered by a refreshing thread of citrus acidity. It's beautifully balanced, with a lightness of touch that belies its modest price tag. This is a Chardonnay with a twinkle in its eye - charming, generous, and with a hint of hidden sophistication.
The Producer:
Larry Cherubino Wines is a name that consistently pops up when discussing Western Australian wine. Larry Cherubino, the man behind the label, is a bit of a legend in the region. After graduating from Australia's prestigious Roseworthy program, he spent years honing his craft around the world before returning home in 2005 to set up his own show. Today, he's not only making highly regarded wines under his own label, but also lends his expertise to a number of other big names. Larry's a bloke who wears his passion for winemaking clearly on his sleeve, and it shows in the quality of the wines he produces.
When to drink:
Ideal to sip on a sun-dappled terrace with a platter of grilled sardines, the wine's crisp acidity a perfect match for the fish's richness.
