Description
In a nutshell:
A delightfully balanced Western Australian Chardonnay, full of ripe orchard fruit, a hint of creamy oak, and a bright, citrusy freshness.
The lowdown:
This Western Australian Chardonnay comes from the Pemberton area, a cooler spot than the famous Margaret River, and it shows in its elegant, citrus-driven style. Theres plenty of ripe stone fruit - peaches, apricots, and a whisper of pear - but it's the silken touch of vanilla and marzipan from French oak that adds just the right amount of richness. The winemaking is all about restraint, letting the fruit shine while keeping things beautifully balanced. Fresh yet rounded, it's a Chardonnay with finesse, brightness, and more sophistication than the price tag suggests.
The Producer:
Larry Cherubino Wines is a name that consistently pops up when discussing Western Australian wine. Larry Cherubino, the man behind the label, is a bit of a legend in the region. After graduating from Australia's prestigious Roseworthy program, he spent years honing his craft around the world before returning home in 2005 to set up his own show. Today, he's not only making highly regarded wines under his own label, but also lends his expertise to a number of other big names. Larry's a bloke who wears his passion for winemaking clearly on his sleeve, and it shows in the quality of the wines he produces.
When to drink:
Subtle and silky, this works a treat with things like roast chicken and tarragon, crispy pork belly, or a classic chicken fricassée. The ripe fruit and gentle oak add richness without throwing their weight around.
