Description
In a nutshell:
Refreshingly clean, crisp lager with a delightful touch of lingering hop bitterness.
The lowdown:
A lager hailing from one of the world's driest countries really needs to be super refreshing - well, this certainly is. Brewed in line with the German Reinheitsgebot - their beer purity laws - its got a pure, uncluttered flavour. You get a crisp, clean taste, balanced with a gentle hop bitterness and a whisper of citrus and warm bread to add a bit of character. But, above all it's incredibly easy to drink and a lifesaver whenever the weather gets too hot.
The Brewery:
Namibia Breweries started life over a century ago in 1920. Based in Windhoek, the country's capital, they made lagers their speciality. And by sticking to the German Reinheitsgebot - brewing laws guaranteeing purity - they built a reputation for quality. Today, Namibia Breweries is a big cheese in Namibia and holds the lion's share of the domestic market. But they've also gone global with their flagship Windhoek Lager with its clean, crisp taste finding fans worldwide. In 2023 Heineken snapped them up, but Namibia Breweries remain a brewing powerhouse, proudly Namibian, and still knocking out top-notch beers.
Style - Pilsners, Helles & Pale Lagers ABV 4.0% - Moderate Strength
