Description
Amber, Red Ale & Bitter
England: London
ABV 5.4% - 5.0 Litres
In a Nutshell:
A smooth, balanced blended beer that combines the crispness of Wimbledon Best Bitterwith the rich depth of their XXXK Vintage Ale.
The Lowdown:
Fortitude Blended Bitter is a bold and tasty fusion of two standout beers - the easy-drinking Wimbledon Best and the rather special XXXK Vintage Ale. The result is a beer with plenty of oomph, as the richness of the Vintage Ale adds depth to the crispness of the Best. It's a well-rounded, approachable bitter with all the character you want, delivering a classic British experience with plenty of punch.
The Brewery:
Wimbledon has a brewing history stretching back to the Middle Ages, but the modern Wimbledon Brewery began in 2014, founded by Mark Gordon. After a career in the City, he set out to brew high-quality English beer in his home town and brought in experienced brewer Derek Prentice, formerly of Youngs, Trumans and Fullers. These days you'll find the brewery close to the site of the medieval Merton Priory just south of the town.
