Description
In a nutshell:
A light bodied, low alcohol, easy drinking table beer from south Londons Wimbledon Brewery.
The lowdown:
A historic style, Table Beers are now seeing an increase in demand due to its easy drinking and low alcohol. Plumage Archer malt was used for this beer, it brings body and backbone to the brew. Wheat and oat malts add gentle smoothness. Centennial, Taiheke, Rakau and Motueka hops, contributes floral, citrus and tropical fruit notes.
The Producer: Wimbledon Brewery
The Wimbledon area of southwest London has a long history of brewing going back at least as far as the Middle Ages. This the current one was started in 2014 by Mark Gordon who, after a career in the City, had ambitions to brew internationally renowned English beer in the town where he lived. He recruited Derek Prentice who, through his career, has brewed at many famous London breweries including Youngs, Trumans and Fullers. The current brewery is situated close to the site of the medieval Merton Priory.
