Description
In a nutshell:
A Gift Pack of 2 x bottles of Tynt Meadow English Trappist beer and a branded glass.
The lowdown:
Trappist ales are more often associated with Belgium from where most of them are brewed, but Tynt Meadow is the first Trappist beer to come from Britain, brewed at Mount Saint Bernard Abbey in Leicestershire. It's mahogany-coloured, with a subtle, warm red hue, and a lasting beige head. The aroma carries hints of dark chocolate, liquorice, and rich fruit flavours making a full-bodied, well balanced ale. It leaves a warm and dry finish on the palate.
The Brewery
Trappist beers tend to be named after the place in which the monastery is situated. So the monks of Mount Saint Bernard have called theirs 'Tynt Meadow, to honour the link with the plot of land on which monastic life there was refounded in the English Midlands almost two centuries ago. Being part of the great Trappist tradition, they chose to produce a strong dark ale, but one that has a clearly English character.
