The lowdown:
Stone Buenaveza Salt & Lime Lager was born in Southern California, but heavily influenced by their Mexican neighbours just to the south. Southern California's warm weather lends itself to year-round outdoor activities and this beer is just made to go with this. With clean, fresh squeezed lime aromas and a slight tartness and light bitterness it's ultra crisp and refreshing and very well balanced.
The Brewery:
Founded by Greg Koch and Steve Wagner, Stone Brewing has come a long way since opening in San Diego County in 1996. They're now the ninth-largest craft brewer in the US operating two breweries. One in Escondido, California and the other on the east coast in Richmond, Virginia. At the start their aim was to create amazing, flavour packed beers which provided an alternative to the industrialized beers that dominated the market at the time. While they were confident in what they were trying they certainly didn't foresee what Stone would eventually grow into, nor that their brewery would be a big part of the craft beer revolution in the US and around the world.
