Description
In a nutshell:
Modern-style brown ale with extra bite, brewed stronger than most and full of rich, roasty character.
The lowdown:
Brown ale isn't always the first thing people reach for - so this one was brewed to shake things up a bit. It's got all the toasted malt and roasted nut flavours you'd expect, but with a fuller body and a bit more punch than your average brown. Designed for the 21st century, it's bold, warming, and with enough bitter to stay balanced. Traditional at heart, but made with a bit more swagger and a stronger handshake.
The Brewery:
Ridgeway Brewing has been flying the flag for classic English beer since 2002, with founder Peter Scholey at the helm. Best known for their traditional IPAs, Bitters and ESBs, Ridgeway's beers strike a balance between heritage and the tastes of today - what they call "cutting edge tradition." Now under the wing of Crafty Brewing of Dunsfold, that philosophy looks set to flourish. The two breweries share a respect for slow-brewed, characterful ales, and their partnership promises to carry Ridgeway's legacy forward - not by reinventing the wheel, but by giving it a fresh spin for the next generation of drinkers.
Style - Brown, Mild & Old Ale ABV 5.8% - Moderate Strength
