Description
In a nutshell:
Delicate pink blossoms, a hint of strawberry, and a refreshingly dry finish, this delightful Italian rosé is for those lighter moments.
The lowdown:
This delicate blush wine from northern Italy offers a unique twist on rosé. Think of it as a whisper of strawberries and cream, with a subtle hint of savoury herbs. It's crafted from the Corvina grape - the star of bolder reds like Amarone - in the Bardolino region near Lake Garda. The winemaking keeps things light and fresh, leaving you with vibrant cherry and raspberry notes but a surprisingly satisfying texture for such a pale pink.
The Producer:
Azienda Agricola Monte del Frà is a historic estate in Custoza, its beautiful vineyards woven amidst the gentle hills east of Lake Garda. It's a true family affair, with the Bonomos at the helm, who've been there for generations. They put the vine first, believing exceptional wines start in the vineyard. With meticulous care and limited yields, they produce stunning expressions of the region such as their vibrant Custozas and elegant Bardolinos. And of course, their foray into the Valpolicella Classico is equally impressive. The Bonomo family have a deep respect for their land, and that dedication shines through in the glass.
When to drink:
A crisp, fruity rosé which is just the ticket for lighter lunches - think salads, seafood, and anything you might pack for a picnic.
