On the palate there are generous, ripe, pure Merlot fruit flavours with refreshing acidity, structured yet silky tannins and pronounced length and minerality. A top quality varietal wine from one of the icons of South Africa.
The Producer:
Meerlust, a longstanding Stellenbosch estate dating back to 1756, has played a pivotal role in shaping modern South African winemaking. They were among the first to grow Bordeaux varieties in the Cape, setting a pattern that's now widely emulated. Their flagship cuvée, Rubicon, is a masterful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, embodying their ultimate expression of the style.
