The lowdown:
The summery bouquet shows exceptional intensity and freshness with its aromas of ripe, juicy stone fruit complemented by zesty redcurrant and citrus notes. The palate is soft, juicy, and concentrated on entry and then quickly shows a chalky, saline freshness that structures the wine and lends it a voluptuous yet delicate mouthfeel. The soft, delicate bubbles coat the palate and impart a velvety texture, with a seemingly never-ending finish.
The Producer:
Champagne Louis Roederer was established in 1776 and remains under the ownership of the Rouzaud family to this day. With over 240ha of vineyards located exclusively in Grands and Premiers Crus villages, which contribute their productions to approximately 70% of their non-vintage wines and 100% of their vintage wines. Pioneers in sustainable farming, Louis Roederer use organic practices in their vineyards, and are certified organic in 115ha, with the remainder of the estate in conversion. The house makes a range of champagne styles, all following to guideline of elegant and refreshing yet with an impressive depth of flavour.
