Description
In a nutshell:
A hazy, citrusy witbier with a zesty twist and a nod to Belgian tradition.
The lowdown:
Brewed with oats, wheat, spices and orange peel in the classic Belgian style - though this one's definitely got a Sussex accent. Marmalade, clove and lemon verbena lead the charge, all lifted by gentle carbonation and a light, breezy feel. Tradition gets a playful nudge here: familiar flavours, but a bit more fun with them. Ideal fridge territory when something zesty, spicy and just that little bit different is in order.
The Brewery:
Beak Brewery, nestled in the South Downs near Lewes, is a bird worth watching. Founded by food writer Daniel Tapper, they started life as a nomadic project, brewing hop-forward IPAs and saisons with the likes of Beavertown and Northern Monk. Now, with their own kit, they've landed in Lewes, and brew a diverse range of beers. Expect juicy IPAs alongside traditional best bitters and exciting mixed-fermentation projects. Their taproom, with its ever-changing beer list and street-food canteen, is a must-visit for any beer lover.
Style - Belgian Style Witbier ABV 5.2% - Moderate Strength
