Description
In a nutshell:
A full-bodied and silky Whisky from Highland distillers Ardmore.
The lowdown:
This Whisky celebrates the distillers unique location on the fringes of the Highlands, offering a lightly peated liquid that is sweet and uplifting. The gentle flavour fully captures the essence of its home. With creamy vanilla spice that is balanced by the sweet honey, this is a single that's very welcomng with an easy appeal.
The Producer:
The Ardmore distillery sits at the highest point of the Northern railway line, 600 feet above sea level. Close to the small village of Kennethmont, Aberdeenshire. The railway was important, its proximity allowed founder Adam Teacher, son of the more famous Wiiliam, to easily reach important centres like Glasgow from this remote corner of Aberdeenshire, helping the distillery flourish. Until recent times it has been one of the more traditional distilleries, having its own maltings until the 1970s and cooperage into the 1980s and until as recently 2001 coal was still used to fire the stills.
