Mas de Daumas Gassac is a bit of a legendary Languedoc wine estate, their top wines rubbing shoulders quite comfortably with the big names of Bordeaux and Burgundy. Happily, for more everyday drinking, their portfolio extends to a range of more affordable wines which benefit from the same same skill and care put into their top cuvées. This delightful, unassuming rosé is a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Carignan. If you think of Provençal rosés you're on the right lines. It has delicious fresh strawberry, cherry and redcurrant flavours and is, above all, brilliantly easy drinking and at the price a real snip.

Mas de Daumas Gassac, founded in 1971 by the Guibert family, is often dubbed the 'First Growth of the Languedoc'. Nestled in the charming Gassac valley, they soon realised the potential to craft exceptional wines. Their flagship red and white cuvées are highly sought-after fine wines, yet they also produce a diverse range of more modest bottles. Each wine, whether grand or humble, adheres to the same meticulous standards, offering great value for money. And it's this dedication to quality across the board that has cemented their reputation.
When to drink:
A rosé that looks the part and tastes the part, this is great with a classic prawn cocktail, garlicky grilled langoustines, or a Niçoise salad. Crisp, fresh, and just the thing for a summer picnic.
