Authentically crisp Cornish lager that's refreshingly balanced, with a tadge of malty sweetness and a whisper of floral hops.
The Lowdown:
Inspired by the original pilsner - none of the knock-offs, thank you it's crafted with UK lager malt, Bohemian malt, and proper Czech Saaz hops for that unmistakable touch. Golden in the glass with a gentle honeyed sweetness balanced by subtle hop bitterness, it's gluten-free too, for those keeping an eye out.
The Brewery:
Ah, yes, Padstow Brewing. Rising from humble beginnings in a cramped surf shower, these Cornish brewers have done rather well for themselves. Some still call Padstow 'Padstein' due to a certain chef's culinary empire, but this lot make something you can actually drink. Ten years of tinkering, and now they've got the awards and a proper-sized brewery to prove it. Rather them than the soggy surf shower, I should think.
