Description
English Style Pale Ale
England: Kent
ABV 4.4% - 5.0 Litres
In a Nutshell:
A seasonal pale ale brewed with freshly harvested green hops, offering citrus-herbal bite and sweet malt-backed flavour.
The Lowdown:
Green hop beers appear only at harvest, when hops are used straight from the bine without drying. Admiral provides the focus here, giving citrus peel, gentle herbs and a light resinous note. Pale malt underpins it with a touch of sweetness, enough to frame the hops without dulling their freshness. Mid-strength and firmly seasonal, its the kind of beer that reminds you why the hop harvest is worth marking.
The Brewery: Long Man Brewerycan be found at Church Farm in the beautiful Cuckmere Valley, right in the South Downs. Since 2012 theyve been making beer with an unusually short supply chain: barley grown in their own fields, water drawn from the chalk aquifer beneath the downs, and solar power running the brewhouse. Even the by-products go back into the farm. Its a set-up that makes their beers feel firmly tied to Sussex, and explains their loyal following in the county.
