Description
In a nutshell:
A fresh, juicy, and bold 100% Rondo red wine from West Sussex producer Kinsbrook Vineyard.
The lowdown:
This is Kinsbrook's first ever red wine and the first of their 'Kith' range, aimed to showcase the cool, funky, and mischievous side of wine production. Made from 100% Rondo grapes from the October 2022 harvest, it was made in a Beaujolais nouveau style. Using the Carbonic Maceration technique during the winemaking process has resulted in a wine that is fun, juicy, and bold with tonnes of character and full of fresh and lively dark cherry and blackcurrant flavours.
The Producer:
Kinsbrook Vineyard, near Thakeham in West Sussex, has come a long way since its 2017 beginnings under the stewardship of Joe Beckett and Rebecca Dancer. From a modest start, they've expanded impressively, now boasting over 56,000 vines. Their diverse range of wines includes sparkling, reds, whites, and rosés. But it's not just about the wine. The vineyard is a lovely spot to visit, with a spectacular double-height barn that hosts their cosy restaurant and farm shop. And if you're curious about where the fruit comes from, you can book a tour of the vineyard too.
When to drink:
Best served after spending an hour in the fridge before opening, would pair well with most BBQ occasions.
