Escape Artist is an oatmeal porter brewed in the fashionable parts of East London - and it's everything you'd expect. Oats smooth out the usual sharp edges of a regular porter, giving it a velvety body. What follows is a rich blend of coffee, vanilla, chocolate and caramel, all leading to a bittersweet dark chocolate finish. A dark, satisfying brew that's full of character without being too heavy-handed.
The Brewery:
Great Beyond Brewing launched in 2022, in the railway arches of trendy Hoxton. Founded by brewers Ollie Parker, John Driebergen, and Nick Walsh, they're all about creativity, quality, and sustainability - with a healthy dose of experimentation. They brew everything from crisp lagers to hazy IPAs and even a wheat beer with botanicals for good measure. And as part of their commitment to the community, all their staff have shares in the place. A very drinkable co-op, indeed.
