Big, powerful Argentinian Tannat.
Tannat's home is Madiran in south-west France where it produces big, powerful, tannic and long-lived reds. It is now however finding a second home in South America, particularly Uruguay and in this case Argentina. Grown high up at 1800m in an isolated stretch of rugged desert where a number of factors come together to create the ideal place to grown vines - the stunning Calchaquí Valleys region.
The winery was founded by French immigrants David (after who this wine is named after) and Salvador Michel in 1892 and has been producing wine ever since. Aged for 12 months in oak this wine is rich and full-bodied with a long finish.
