In a nutshell: Spicy Belgian Antwaarpse Pale Ale from Antwerp's Brouwerij de Koninck
The lowdown: For this beer the moniker APA means Antwaarpse Pale Ale. It has an outstanding copper coloured and is a spicier counterpart to a traditional British bitter. Sparkling with taste and a velvety smooth finish.

Established in 1833 in Antwerp, De Koninck made its reputation with a regionally atypical mid-alcoholic amber ale with a bitter ‘kick’ from Saaz hops. Now incorporated into the Duvel-Moortgat brewery, de Koninck are edging into the global craft beer scene with the recent introduction of forward-hopped blonde and spiced ales. The original de Koninck is still our favourite though.
