Description
In a nutshell:
Bold flavours of juicy blackcurrant and a touch of spice - perfect for a cosy night in, straight from the warmth of the Barossa Valley.
The lowdown:
Blackberry and blackcurrant take the lead in this full-bodied Aussie Cabernet Sauvignon, followed by a touch of creaminess that hints at its time in French and American oak. It hails from the renowned Barossa Valley. Despite its richness, it shows surprising freshness on the palate and a subtle texture. Expect well-integrated flavours with a satisfyingly long finish. This is classic Barossa Cabernet through and through.
The Producer:
Corryton Burge might be a recent addition to the South Australian wine scene, but don't let that fool you. The Burge name carries some serious weight - this is a family steeped in Barossa winemaking. Trent and Amelia Burge had a fantastic mentor in their father, Grant, and their wines show it. You get the sense of a fresh perspective backed by that deep understanding of the region. Their Shiraz is particularly good - classic Barossa richness but with a lovely touch of finesse. Corryton Burge is definitely one to watch.
When to drink:
This big, juicy red needs a plate of something equally punchy - think rich stews or a perfectly cooked steak.
Suitable for Vegetarians
