Description
In a nutshell:
Full bodied german Helles beer from Bräustüberl Tegernsee in the Bavarian Alpine foothills.
The lowdown:
The small town of Tegernsee in the Bavarian Alps produces a range of beers rarely seen outside the local area. The Spezial is a golden helles beer with a bready malt aroma and hoppy fresh palate. Well worth a try whenever we have it on the shelves.
The Brewery:
Starting out as a Benedictine monastic brewery Herzoglich Bayerisches Brauhaus Tegernsee make one of the best Helles lager in the world. These days the brewery is located on the shores of the lake after which it is named situated an hour south Munich in the foothills of the Alps. Using all the traditional brewing techniques the German brewers have been perfecting for centuries this brewery makes unbeatable beers with a true sense and taste of tradition. With the bulk of their production being consumed in Bavaria not much of it makes its way over to our shores, so they're worth grabbing when available.
Style - Pilsners, Helles & Pale Lagers ABV 5.6% - Moderate Strength
