Adanti Arquata Montefalco Rosso 2020
A characterful yet refined red from Umbria, with dark cherry, plum, and herbal notes, balanced by firm tannins and a savoury, earthy finish.
Medium-Full Body, Lightly Oaked
The Lowdown
Umbria, Tuscany's smaller neighbour, has its own take on Italian reds, and this is a great example. This one is mostly Sangiovese, with a splash of local grape Sagrantino adding a bit more punch and structure. After 12 months spent in large oak barrels, it's packed with black cherry, blackberry, and chocolate flavours, with hints of coffee, herbs, and warm spices. The tannins are firm but nicely balanced, making it bold and full of character, yet still really inviting.
The Occasion
A classic Italian food wine - great with lentil stew, roast pork with herbs, or pecorino cheese. The wine's bold flavours and firm tannins match hearty, rustic dishes perfectly.
