Description
In a nutshell:
A vibrant red bursting with juicy berries and peppy spice - Stellenbosch summer sunshine bottled.
The lowdown:
This South African red is vibrant, with juicy layers of dark berries and hints of spice. The wine comes from biodynamic vineyards known for their fresh coastal influence. It's a harmonious blend of Syrah, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot - each grape lending its own signature to the whole. Crafted with care, the wine boasts a fresh, lively fruitiness balanced by a smooth complexity and subtle herbaceous notes. A truly delicious and well-structured wine.
The Producer:
Waterkloof, established in 2004 by Paul Boutinot, is a bit of a favourite of those who appreciate wines made with care and a more than a touch of conscience. This family-run estate is proudly organic and biodynamic, even sporting the WWF Biodiversity Champion title. Perched on the Schapenberg hills overlooking False Bay, their vineyards benefit from cool breezes and a leisurely growing season, producing wonderfully balanced fruit. In the cellar, winemaker Nadia Langenegger allows the grapes to speak for themselves with minimal interference, creating wines that feel genuine, refined, and very much a taste of their unique surroundings.
When to drink:
An effortlessly easy-drinking red which pairs beautifully with everyday comfort food, particularly anything with a rich tomato sauce.
Suitable for Vegans, Biodynamic
