A small production Chilean Malbec with a real fruit richness.
While Argentina is the apparent home of Malbec in South America, this competitor from across the Andes gives them a good run for their money. The vines used in this wine are at least a century old. The grapes are spontaneously fermented before ageing for a year in old French oak barrels. The result is ripe and supple wine full of dark and juicy blackberry and cherry flavours and held in place with a refeshing acidity and round, well integrated tannins.
A beautiful example of South American Malbec with a well restrained oak influence. Drink alongside red meats and robust pasta dishes.
