The lowdown:
The fruit for this comes from vineyards near the edge of the Atacama desert in the north of the country. Aged in stainless steel before bottling to preserve the freshness the result is a bright and expressive wine which delivers floral, honeyed and citrus flavours on the nose and palate and a chalky minerality typical of the region. Its soft and rounded texture gives the right mouthfeel.
The Producer:
Established in 2002, Viña Tabali is a pioneering winery situated in Limari, on the edge of the Atacama Desert, one of the northernmost vineyard regions of Chile. They were one of the first wineries to settle in Limari and their wines faithfully reflect their place of origin in which climate and soils play a fundamental role and bring out the potential of each of their vineyards. Their range is truly distinctive, wines that display elegance, restraint and minerality which have earned the team of Felipe Müller, chief winemaker, and Hector Rojas a cabinet full of the prestigious wine awards.
When to drink:
With its graceful aromatic character this is a good match to similarly aromatic Thai and Asian cuisine.
