St Bernardus Wit
A classic Witbier from Belgium's St Bernardus Brewery.
The Lowdown
This traditional witbier (wheat beer) was developed in cooperation with Master Brewer Pierre Celis who was behind Hoegaarden and Celis White. Characterised by a very pale colour and slight haziness and a lovely, tart, citrus flavour.
The Producer
You'll find Brouwerij St.Bernardus just south of the Town of Watou hard up against the border with France. Since their beers are no longer brewed within an abbey they haven't been able to call their products 'Trappist Beers' since the 1990. But, to be honest, that hasn't really been a problem for them. The reputation of their beers is such that demand for them continues unabated.
