St Bernardus' flagship beer, and one of the best you'll find in Belgium, brewed to the same recipe since 1946. A fruity aroma leads onto a complex and rich and rounded palate striking the perfect balance between bitter and sweet. Makes an ideal partner to rich beef stew dishes, or try with strong blue cheese like Roquefort.

You'll find Brouwerij St.Bernardus just south of the Town of Watou hard up against the border with France. Since their beers are no longer brewed within an abbey they haven't been able to call their products 'Trappist Beers' since the 1990. But, to be honest, that hasn't really been a problem for them. The reputation of their beers is such that demand for them continues unabated.
