Description
At a Glance:
| Bock, Marzen & Festbier | Germany | ABV 5.9% | 50cl |
In a Nutshell:
Clean and crisp, this is one of the six offical Oktoberfest beers from Munich's Spaten Brrewery
The Lowdown:
Terrific, clean and crisp Oktoberfestbier from one of the traditional breweries. It's slightly pale in colour and has a hint of a sweet citrus aroma. On the palate its crisp and smooth with a slight bitterness following on the finish.
The Brewery:
The history of this Munich's Spaten brewery is reputed to stretch back as far as 1397. After moving around through the centuries, they finally settled in their current location in the city in 1867. "Spaten" is German for spade and the brewery's symbol is a malt shovel which is prominent in their logo. Today it's a part of the global conglomerate InBev and is one of Bavaria's largest breweries. They are one of the six able to serve their beers at the official Munich Oktoberfest.
