The Lowdown:
Sibeeria may be based in Prague, but this pale ale could have walked straight out of the Pacific Northwest. The hops lead with grapefruit, pine and a flicker of tropical fruit, balanced by a malt base that adds a touch of sweetness to hold it steady. The bitterness is bold but not brash, finishing crisp and refreshing. Czech by address, American at heart, it is a pale ale built to hit the right notes on both sides of the Atlantic.
The Brewery:
Sibeeria are part of the new guard shaking up Czech beer. Based in Prague since 2014, they clearly love a good lager but aren't about to stop there. One week it's a hazy IPA, the next a pastry stout or a tart little sour, and somehow they make them all work. The point isn't to chase trends so much as to show they can turn their hand to almost anything. In a land famous for pilsner, Sibeeria keep things lively by refusing to be boxed in.
