The Lowdown:
Sonoma County is home to some of California's best Zinfandels - wines with structure and supple tannins over softness - and Seghesio have long been leading exponents of the style. Here fruit from multiple vineyard lots across the county, each fermented separately before blending, builds a classic expression. Bright red raspberry, plum and fresh blackberry lead, with a lively acidity keeping everything vivid. Oak ageing develops the silky tannins, bringing structure, polish and presence. Bold and richly fruited with balance and refinement, which is the hallmark of Sonoma.
The Producer:
Seghesio Family Vineyards have been an integral part of Sonoma County's scene for over 125 years with founder Edoardo Seghesio planting his first Zinfandel vines in what is now their 'Home Ranch' vineyard in Alexander Valley in 1895. And over the years they've built a reputation for world class Zinfandel which was firmly cemented under the guidance of Pete and Ted Seghesio in the 1980s. They own 120 hectares of sustainably farmed vineyards across several renowned appellations in Sonoma, including Dry Creek Valley, Alexander Valley and Russian River Valley. In addition to these outstanding sites, they have long-standing relationships with local growers from both Sonoma and Mendocino counties.

Rich, balanced and fruity this wine will pair well with fillet of duck, venison or tomato based pasta dishes.
