Dry, light and refreshing yet packed with flavour this Sancerre Rosé offers a bit more seriousness and depth than other pink wines with their backbone of minerality and fresh acidity. With notes of strawberries, raspberries and floral hints, juicy fruit flavours, good depth and a long, refreshing finish this is an excellent cool climate rosé, typical of the Sancerre style.
The Producer:
The Dezats have been a winemaking dynasty in the Sancerre area since the 16th century. Firmin Dezat, from the latest generation, operates from his grandfather Andres old cellars in Verdigny. He manages over 20 hectares of vineyards, growing Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir across various soil types, the different terroirs adding depth and character to his wines. In 2021, he converted to organic practices and focuses on minimal intervention in the winery. This approach allows the natural qualities of his fruit and the terroir to shine through, creating wines that truly reflect their origins. It's a good blend of tradition and modern winemaking.
When to drink:
Highly versatile it is great on its own or try with salmon, vegetables such as artichokes, salads or roast chicken.
