This wine comes from the Domaine owned vineyards of Comte Lafond in Sancerre and is regarded as one of the very best Sancerre's available. Remarkable and aromatic intensity on the nose. Floral notes of white flowers such as hawthorn, acacia, eglantine, and elderflower. This is backed up by blackcurrant buds and wild flowers. Lively, full and refreshing, it's dominated by flinty stones and chalk typical of fine Sancerre wines.
The Producer:
De Ladoucette, a star of the Loire Valley, traces its roots back to the 18th century. Theyre behind some of the region's most prestigious wines, notably from Pouilly Fumé and Sancerre. Their flagship, 'Baron de L' Pouilly Fumé, alongside the esteemed Comte Lafond Grande Cuvée Sancerre, showcases Sauvignon Blanc at its finest. These wines encapsulate the elegance and complexity that the Loire is famed for.
When to drink:
With its liveliness and elegance it can very easily be enjoyed by itself, but with food think about rich and creamy seafood and shellfish dishes.
