PRODUCER
Brasserie Dupont

When it comes to Belgian breweries, Brasserie Dupont in its current form is a mere ‘whippersnapper’ dating from 1950. Located in Tourpes in the western Hainaut region Dupont is brewed on a working farm with significant brewing links back to the mid 1700’s. Consequently, despite its relatively modern heritage, Dupont’s style draws heavily on the historic farmhouse ales of the wider region.
The brewhouse at Dupont also acknowledges the important brewing heritage of the region with typical copper boiling kettles dating to the 1920’s. Interestingly, much conjecture has been made as to the fermentation yeast used at Dupont with many commentators convinced that, very unusually, a red wine strain is prevalent. We’re certain this will remain a ‘brewers’ secret though!
