Rude Mechanicals Vineyard Gin

This is a gin that takes things up a notch with its second distillation that really intensifies the flavours. Instead of the usual compounding methods, hand-selected botanicals are distilled right into the gin. The result is a botanical compôte of juniper, mandarin flesh, cardamom, clementine peel, lemon zest, and a hint of wine. It's everything you want in a gin - classic, but with a bit of something extra. It’s a gin that tastes like a gin, just a really good one.

Rude Mechanicals is an intriguing collaboration between seasoned winemakers Eric Monnin and Samantha Bailey, alongside Dr. John Walters of English Spirit Master Distillers. This trio ventured into the gin world, using Boutinot wine as the base for their unique creation. Their innovation doesn't stop there; they age their rum in large demi-muids previously used for Rhône Valley reds, adding a rich depth to the spirit. Their range of spirits might only be small, but it's perfectly formed.
