Rémy Martin XO is a Fine Champagne Cognac with 85% of the fruit coming from the best Grande Champagne vineyards. The aromas have a real florality about them with hints of jasmne and iris which complement the richer tones of cinnamon, figs and candied fruit really well. The palate sees these flavour carry through while the smooth velvety texture and long lingering finish mark this out as a pretty special XO Cognac.
The Producer:
Founded back in 1724 Rémy Martin is thought of as one of the 'Big Four' Cognac Houses. They're well known for their Fine Champagne Cognacs, that is those made only from fruit grown in the two most favoured vineyard zones, Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne, which due to the quality of the resulting eaux-de-vie they tend to age for longer than most others to achieve a real maturity and mellow character. Their headquarters is in the town of Cognac itself.
