Description
In a nutshell:
Sumptuous South African Chenin Blanc offering a touch of richness, like sunshine-drenched citrus fruits nestled in creamy comfort.
The lowdown:
A whiff of sunbaked stone and a honeyed whisper this South African Chenin Blanc is sunshine in a glass. It comes from cool vineyards where the grapes ripen slowly to build complexity. Made with minimal fuss in the winery, it relies on the inherent quality of the Chenin Blanc grapes to shine. The result is weighty and viscous wine with intense flavours of stone and tropical fruits, ripe orange, touches of sweet spice, and a long, honeyed finish. And it maintains a good acidity giving the wine precision and a satisfyingly clean finish.
The Producer:
Post House Wines wines hail from a picturesque estate nestled between Somerset West and Stellenbosch - a South African winemaking heartland. With breathtaking views of False Bay the vineyards enjoy the moderating influence of coastal breezes. Winemaker Nick Gebers, drawing inspiration from the estate's 'postal' past, launched his first vintage after a formative stint in Burgundy. Since then, Post House has built a reputation for carefully planted vineyards, thoughtfully matched to individual grape varieties, making them a notable name in the Stellenbosch region.
When to drink:
Crisp, refreshing, and with a hint of honey - this versatile white's a treat with creamy chicken dishes or a simply grilled piece of fish.
