Description
In a nutshell:
Imagine blackberries dipped in dark chocolate with just a hint of warming spice that's the sort of rich, satisfying treat this Pinotage offers.
The lowdown:
Brambles and a hint of dark chocolate on the nose... this is a wine with South Africa in its soul. Made with Pinotage, their very own grape, you won't often find this kind of sunshine-in-a-glass elsewhere. It's velvety, full of ripe fruit and a touch of spice. There's something almost playful about it, a hint of violets beneath all that richness. A bit unexpected, a bit delightful, and a whole lot of wine for the price.
The Producer:
Post House Wines wines hail from a picturesque estate nestled between Somerset West and Stellenbosch - a South African winemaking heartland. With breathtaking views of False Bay the vineyards enjoy the moderating influence of coastal breezes. Winemaker Nick Gebers, drawing inspiration from the estate's 'postal' past, launched his first vintage after a formative stint in Burgundy. Since then, Post House has built a reputation for carefully planted vineyards, thoughtfully matched to individual grape varieties, making them a notable name in the Stellenbosch region.
When to drink:
Go for chargrilled steaks, smoky sausages, or a rich game pie - this is the sort of red that craves honest, satisfying flavours.
Suitable for Vegetarians
