Description
At a Glance:
| Fruity & Refreshing Rosé | Bone Dry | Light-Bodied | Vegan | Languedoc-Roussillon | ABV 12.0% | 75cl |
In a Nutshell:
Light and bracing rosé from the Languedoc, bursting with invigorating acidity.
The Lowdown:
Piquepoul Noir, a grape you don't see every day, is the star of this bright and refreshing rosé from its home turf in the Languedoc. Take a punnet of tart summer berries, a juicy peach or two, and a hint of rose petals and dried herbs and thatll give you the measure of this. It's got a lovely zip and finishes clean and dry - just the job for a sunny afternoon. A delightfully quirky number that proves there's life beyond the usual suspects.
The Producer
Les Vignobles Foncalieu is a significant Languedoc co-operative with a difference. With over 800 grower-members, they strive for quality and innovation alongside fair prices. While many co-ops can be synonymous with straightforward wines, Foncalieu is one that pushes the envelope a bit, producing a diverse range that show cases the best of the Languedoc. Sustainability is a key priority for them with a strong focus on environmentally friendly practices in the vineyard. They're a co-op to be relied upon.
When to Drink:
An excellent alternative to a classic Provençal rosé it's quite simply a lovely wine to drink by itself, or to partner with shellfish and summer salads.
