Percheron Old Vine Cinsault 2024

Cinsault might not be the most famous grape in South Africa, but this old-vine beauty makes a good case for why it should be seen a bit more. Grown on gnarly old, dry-farmed bush vines tucked away in hidden corners of the Cape, it's bright, fresh, and full of character. Juicy pomegranate and crunchy cherry fruit take centre stage, with a crisp acidity keeping things lively. There's a little savoury, gamey depth too, giving it extra intrigue. Elegant and expressive, it shows that there's some really great Cape value to be had out there.

A quick chill brings out the best in this lightish red. Uncork it alongside a sizzling stir-fry or something with duck - its refreshing character makes it a perfect partner for these flavourful dishes.
