Description
In a nutshell:
A fruity and savoury Kiwi Pinot Noir from Marlborough.
The lowdown:
For a Kiwi Pinot Noir that really shows off the region's trademark brightness and vibrancy look no further. You'll get loads of ripe cherries and red fruit flavours, with a touch of dried herbs adding some nice subtlety. The rich fruit is the star here, beautifully polished by silky, well-integrated tannins. A good example of how Marlborough nails expressive and smooth Pinot Noir.
The Producer:
te Pa Family Vineyards, founded by Haysley MacDonald, began its journey in 2003, transitioning from dairy and arable farming to viticulture. Situated on the Wairau Bar, the vineyards face Cloudy Bay, renowned for its ideal soil and climate. Their first vintage was released in 2011, marking the start of their successful wine production. The early successes have allowed them to expand, incorporating vineyards in the Awatere Valley and other Marlborough regions.
When to drink:
Would pair best with lamb, seared tuna, or any barbequed meat.
