Olim Bauda Centive Moscato d'Asti 2025
A genuinely niche Piedmontese speciality — low alcohol, lightly sparkling, fresh, sweet and intensely floral. There really isn't anything else quite like it.
The Lowdown
Moscato d’Asti sits in its own corner of the dessert-wine world: sweet, low in alcohol and carried by a gentle frothy spritz rather than full-on fizz. Moscato grapes bring their trademark floral, grapey character and bright aromatics that dovetail neatly with the sweetness and light mousse. Elderflower, golden apple, peach and a touch of honey run through, with a soft, creamy feel at the finish. Light and refreshing, it carries its sweetness effortlessly.
The Occasion
A gently sparkling, honey-sweet wine for a summer afternoon, perfect with a simple Victoria sponge or a bowl of strawberries and cream.
The Producer
Tenuta Olim Bauda boasts a fascinating history. Once the jewel in the Bertolino family's negociant business in the 1960s, the winery faced a period of closure following Agostino Bertolino's passing in 1985. Thankfully, the family's passion for winemaking endured. In 2000, a new generation - Dino, Diana and Gianni Bertolino - took the helm, reviving the estate's fortunes. Today, Tenuta Olim Bauda flourishes once more, meticulously crafting wines exclusively from their prized vineyards in Piedmont. Quality is paramount, with only the finest grapes selected for each bottling. This dedication to excellence has seen them reclaim their place amongst Piedmont's top producers.
