In a nutshell:
A full bodied, concentrated blockbuster Malbec from the Mendoza region of Argentina.
The Lujan de Cuyo area where the grapes for this are grown are in the heart of Argentina's Mendoza wine growing region. The fruit, 100% Malbec, is from vineyards which are over 40 year old and after vinification is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels followed by a further 12 in bottle before release which gives a well judged structure and integrated tannic backbone. Intense and deeply coloured, the bold black fruits, spices and smoky aromas lead on to a full, ripe palate with rich, luscious mouthfeel, silky smooth tannins and a great tasting finish.
When to drink:
It's certainly a lot of wine for the money and will match well with rich pasta dishes, game and semi-cured cheeses.
