Description
In a nutshell:
A fresh and fruity red wine blend, with flavours of black cherry and bramble fruit from New Hall Wine Estate in Essex.
The lowdown:
A delicious red blend made with a selection of varieties that thrive in English vineyards. Its full of black cherry and bramble fruit with a hint of red cherry and almond. Also, there are juicy dark fruits sitting alongside a smoky, peppery character leading to a bright, well-structured finish.
The Producer:
Founded in 1969 by Bill and Sheila Greenwood, New Hall Wine Estate in Purleigh, Essex, is one of the older generation of English vineyards that's made the successful transition to the modern day market. They've grown significantly since the 2010s, expanding vineyards and expanding their winery. Located in one of the UK's warmest and sunniest regions, their Essex terrain is perfect for viticulture. Now under the stewardship of the ambitious third generation, they're up among the country's leading producers.
When to drink:
With plenty going on here, it pairs well with vegetable dishes, game or poultry.
