Azienda Agricola Monte Del Fra

Monte del Frà, which means Hill of Monks is located in the heart of the Custoza area, on the east side of Lake Garda and only 15 Km away from the centre of Verona. The estate is owned and run by brothers Eligio and Claudio Bonomo with the next generation of the family, in the shape of Marcia, Silvia and Massimo, also playing an active part.
In total the farm extends to 140 hectares and its history is linked to the grand crus of the area such as Cà del Magro, il vigneto Colombara, Grottino, Staffalo, Monte Godi, Monte Fitti, Mascarpine, Bagolina, Pezzarara and Monte del Frà. For the past decade or so, the Bonomo family also acquired a beautiful winery in the Valpolicella Classica village of Fumane. The Bonomos are passionate about nature and believe that the key to great wine is the emphasis put on the cultivation of the vines. The vineyards are planted in Guyot in the areas of Custoza, Bardolino and Lugana and with the classic pergola system in the Valpolicella Classica. They insist on high quality fruit and limit production to just 2-3kg per vine.
The vineyards are drip irrigated to ensure proper hydration year round. And in the cellar modern winemaking techniques are used to preserve all the characteristics of the terroir and fruit to ensure the highest quality of the resulting wines. The family's fastidious attention to detail at every stage has helped them achieve a high degree of international recognition.
