Description
In a nutshell:
A slice of northern Italy's vibrant flavours, this light and juicy red sings with fresh cherry and berry notes.
The lowdown:
This light, fragrant red offers a delightful taste of Italy's Lake Garda region. Think sweet cherries and a basket of ripe summer berries on the nose. Made primarily from the Corvina grape (just like its Valpolicella neighbour), it's fermented slowly in stainless steel for maximum freshness. The result is a juicy, easy-drinking red with vibrant red-fruit flavours, a delicate hint of spice and a tangy cranberry note on the finish.
The Producer:
Azienda Agricola Monte del Frà is a historic estate in Custoza, its beautiful vineyards woven amidst the gentle hills east of Lake Garda. It's a true family affair, with the Bonomos at the helm, who've been there for generations. They put the vine first, believing exceptional wines start in the vineyard. With meticulous care and limited yields, they produce stunning expressions of the region such as their vibrant Custozas and elegant Bardolinos. And of course, their foray into the Valpolicella Classico is equally impressive. The Bonomo family have a deep respect for their land, and that dedication shines through in the glass.
When to drink:
A vibrant red with a lovely freshness - crack it open with some grilled fish or a spread of charcuterie and salads, absolutely delicious.
