The lowdown:
This is Martin Miller's original which is, as the man himself once said, 'a gin that tastes of gin'. After distillation in pot stills it's mixed with very pure Icelandic spring water which helps give its gentle bouquet and tradmark sensation. Smooth and citrus, the juniper doesn't overpower and allows the highly aromatic character and subtly peppery zestiness to shine through.
The Producer:
Martin Miller, until his death on Christmas Eve 2013, was a well-known London entrepreneur and bon viveur. A hotelier, antique dealer and man behind Miller's Antique guide it was in 1999 that, along with a couple of friends, he launched a new gin aimed to breathe new life into the, at the time, ailing gin category of spirits. Being the extrovert he was it was natural to put his name on the label. Along with the likes of Hendrick's it can fairly be said that Martin Miller's has been a label behind the renaissance of gin over the last few years and the multitude of small batch, artisan and exclusive premium gins that have followed in his wake have much to thank him for.
